I think the odds are in her favour.

I think Oprah has more than enough money to buy her another Oscar. This time for Best Actress! Sure, she was terrible in Dreamgirls, painfully bad, but the most important thing to remember is she is black. That means diverse. And diversity is our strength.

Hmm I was thinking it was more a sure thing because of the Academy’s propensity to award actors who play real life figures in biopics. From the previews I’ve seen it looks (or sounds) like Hudson has nailed the vocal imitation of Franklin, at least.

Personally I won’t feel salty if she wins.

All that matters is her skin color. And that she is a person of great dignity and humility. And the Oscar will be hers.

I just viewed the film. In an actually movie theater!! Sooo good. The story, the acting, the direction, it is all there. And well done. If Jennifer Hudson does not get the Oscar, there is no justice. My only concern is that both Forrest Whitaker and Damon Wayan will both get nominated in supporting roles, which they should, and cancel each other out. You know what I mean, splitting the votes.
