why's this rated R????

Seriously! I almost didn't watch it because I usually don't watch R movies(I'm 14) but it seemed really interesting and I read some reviews saying it should be pg-13. So I thought why not? Seriously this is definitely a pg-13 movie. They are movies that are worse than this and are pg-13

reply

The film is rated PG in Australia.

My country actually rated this R21 (u have to be at least 21 years old to see it) solely for the "homosexual theme"

reply

Good God. What country are you in?

This is gonna *beep* do for him what "Jade" did for David Caruso.

reply

Singapore. They're just very strict on certain issues like religious & homosexual content, as they do allow the usual R-rated stuff(e.g graphic violence and sex/nudity) under the various age-restricted ratings...like any other western countries.

reply

Yeah. It's sad that even in the most "liberal" countries homosexual situations are considered worse than blood and violence.

This is gonna *beep* do for him what "Jade" did for David Caruso.

reply

To momentarily change topics, I love your sig as I'm a "Jade" fan. Such ludicrous depravity.

reply

I honestly think it had less to do with the subject material and more with the actual language. I don't know many PG-13 teen movies where characters are called "cockknocker" or "jizz bin."

And the "Shortbus" reference, which I was genuinely impressed they made.I doubt that had much effect but still.

reply

Homophobia. The "sexual content/references" would be PG13 for straight couples and are actually TAMER than ones in plenty of movies without gay characters (or where the leads are straight).... But these ones are gay, so R.

reply

Because of gays. The only reason this movie has an R rating is become the subject matter is primarily "homosexual" which apparently warrants a more severe rating.
