Hilary Swank deserved an Oscar nomination for 'The Homesman'

She was incredible. Understated, affecting and a knock out.

The film had its flaws, but there was nothing wrong with Swank's beautiful performance.

Actually there is nothing wrong with anyone's performances ... all were wonderfully acted and played.

She cant act and she is mud ugly !!

She did a wonderful job acting and her plain looking face is very much a requirement for this role or didn't you get that about the character?

As opposed to who..? Scarlett Johansson? Kristen Stewart? Pffft!

Her Oscar was well deserved. And she did a wonderful job in this film.

I agree. Hilary Swank's performance was Oscar worthy.

Favorite Cuddy scenes:

1) The pain her eyes convey after being told she was plain by her first suitor - heartbreaking
2) The instruction/hugs she gives to the two little girls - heartwarming/based on her mother dying when she was their age
3) The thimble full of water for the doll - compassionate - touches the mother who lost 3 children
4) Prayer scene asking God for a mate - she needed help...she didn't want to be alone anymore
5) Sharing her love of trees with "God will strike you down" lady....funny, yet foreshadowing
6) "Stop the moaning!" scene - the first crack in her tough shell - Cuddy was moaning on the inside...

Yes. That was a heart-breaking, deeply felt scene. Still shocked me when she killed herself, though. I thought she was stronger than that. But her loneliness just got to be too much.

Flokemmerer, thank you for being proof that there are still thinking people around to contribute. Astutely done!

His acting was atrocious. Leave it to Hellywood to cast trannies as women. She was so annoying/gross.
