Man he must be bad in bed!

What a blow to his ego!

haha
naa think about it...she practically begged him and threatened to kill him to get an old man to do her....
and while he was doing it he made her say 3 times that she was the one asking for it...
really its not his fault

It's easy to be glib but you and I love the premise that started the thread and appreciate the ironic humour, all of which was fun and in as bad/good taste as the sequence of scenes in question deserve.

However, sioul_p, has the one serious answer and is correct. It was impossible for George to discern whether Mary Bee was sane when demanding sex and he certainly did not act hastily. He beseeched demurment with all reasonable qualifiers.

Where the plot was concerned bith the sex and the result together are what transformed him into a man of conscience and resolve enough to complete the mission so it needed to be. That said, I think that plot twist shocked me more than any others I can recall. The suicide was in keeping with the film's relentless authenticity (other than the James Spader sequence which just seemed to be for Tommy Lee's - not George's - need for violent release). It also completely changed this from my perspective from an entertaining and enjoyable movie to an almost documentary-style lesson in the harsh realities of life (see the disappointing Suffragette) in that era.

I'm not sure about Ol' George, but by his reputation, Tommy Lee is supposed to be pretty good in bed - but it takes two, you know.

Every man in this movie is bad in bed. Briggs in a way is the worst because he knows what Cuddy wants and it is not a contract to put x into y.

I guess that smelly buffalo skin didn't help in soothing her post-coital tristesse.🐭

Seeing Hilary Swank naked was truly horrifying.

He must be. That wasn't even her body. It was someone with a great body and full bosom. So not Swank.

reply

She seems to have a heavier bosom in these pics and according to MrSkin, no body double was used in this movie.

On this site, she's listed as a 36C

She actually looked really good. Whoever it was.

She actually looked really good. Whoever it was. Big boobs, otherwise slender.

reply

Swank is far from a beauty but she's known to have a great body.

Your misogyny is horrible.

That's when I stopped watching. Her act is completely out of character. It makes no sense at all. Her story was what I was watching. A major plot error. A fatal character error.

reply

To dsgororvitch,. I completely agree with you. It was completely out of character for her & was the suicide because she was extremely religious. I hated this bleak, meaningless movie. It was awful in all areas. What was the point of it? What was the plot? Just to reinforce life was hard in the old West - you need a good story to sell us that same plot that's been done over so many times. I cannot imagine what possessed Ms Swank to agree to this role.
