This is like the 'Before' trilogy

The chemistry beween Lindsay Duncan and Jim Broadbent reminded me much of Julie Delphi and Eathan Hawke from the movies Before Sunrise, Sunset, and Midnight. This maybe how those two maybe like when they grow old together. I also loved the sights of France. his was a wonderful film and Jeff Golblum was great. Still as charming as ever

The last place they're in even looks like the coffee shop Celine and Jesse visited in Before Sunset. Maybe it is.

I thought of those films as I watched this one too. Some of the scenes in this one reminded me of the writing in Before Midnight, particularly the bitterness between Celine and Jesse, although I much prefer Linklater's movies to this.

I just think that if Linklater made a movie about Julie Delphy and Eathan Hawke growing old together this would be it

I gotta say fwiw that I see what you're saying but I greatly prefer the combination of director Michell and writer Kureishi.

There is a sort of trilogy here from them, which would include The Mother, Venus and this movie. All very deft explorations of old age sexuality and romance in relationships. I the best of these may be The Mother...
