Hello guys. Am I the only one who feels like horror movies nowadays have nothing else to offer than an exorcism story? I mean, is it THAT hard to make anything different? Haven't "The Last Exorcism", "The Rite" and "The Devil Inside" been (bad) ENOUGH for the next 20 years?
shareI disagree. I watch horror movies all the time and don't run into very many exorcism stories. There are some great films being pumped out every year in the horror scene, but people don't see them because they aren't Hollywood produced films. Spend some time and dig a little deeper than what's showing at the multiplex. You might be surprised at how much excellent new horror is out there.
Deliver Us from Evil was awful. There. I said it. If you want to watch a spectacular movie that deals with possession, I can recommend The Taking of Deborah Logan. It's streaming on Netflix. It's a fantastic movie that proves old topics can still be very effective if done right.
Could you please recommend me some of those excellent new horror flicks you're refering? I actually like the horror genre, but nowadays I can't find any half-decent horror movie, each time a want to watch a good one, I always end up re-visiting the classics.
