Someone watching the film, after seeing it described as a comedy, may be disappointed. It's more of a satire, a pastiche of 1970's Sci-Fi.
But the few scenes with Dr Bot are laugh-out-loud funny. Especially the first time you see him. I just cracked-up. His wisdom and his questioning of patients deserve a movie in itself. I would love to see him star in some webisodes.
He's certainly the best character in the movie.

When Misty gets personal about the bot the alert was comical but I liked the Captains session even better, how he figured out that simple keywords trigger the bots wisdom speech and it could be repeated in endless circles. Lol
So flawed.

I loved how they based his personality off of the old "Eliza" program.
And all the bots based on modified Omnibots. I kept saying "I've got that one" and annoying the other people watching.

Dr bot's alert with Misty and emotional overload scene is just hilarious really... as are all the drbot scenes.. even the other bots when they are in the background just doing ship work.. best character for sure next to some of the captain scenes.
Would love to see a spin off with the characters from this film really.
funniest moment for me was when he politely declined the christmas invitation (despite not being invited) then was completely silent when it was pointed out the party was for humans only....then turned up at the party. lol.
i did find quite a few funny moments. theyre just not always obvious.
like when the captain slyly moved his cigarette nearer to the girl to get rid of her. lol
Yes, Dr. Bot is indeed a great character and I wish I could have seen more of Bot but maybe that's what makes it special, the few scenes he has. I love that he's at the Xmas party at the end all dressed up.
