After watching Luke Cage and the first two episodes of AoS Season 4 it seems to me that content of Zola's stalling speech to Captain America and Black Widow was still in play.

SHIELD doesn't trust itself, the US government doesn't trust SHIELD, the citizenry doesn't trust SHIELD, a group like the Watchdogs are curiously on the rise, HAMMER is releasing Military grade ordinance into the hands of the police (which will no doubt find it's way into the hands of on the street criminals), politicians are railing against enhanced humans and the public is fearful of not just InHumans but Enhanced humans as well as the Avengers (Sokovia Accords).

Meanwhile the True Agents of SHIELD are running about chasing after their lost and forlorn Daisy Johnson. 😭

The bonds of Trust and Faith have broken down between the government and the people and a living symbol; Steve Rogers aka Captain America is AWOL when the country truly needs him. Instead, an InHuman false face has been put into place to calm the fears.

Rather than be truthful and transparent the government continues it's subterfuge based on fear, paranoia and ignorance. Tsk, tsk, SHIELD never learns.

Captain America was right SHIELD - HYDRA, it all should have been thrown away.

I thought this was gonna lead to claiming that Zola was correct, and that project insight, would have prevented all of this

Project Insight was executing a Rule by Fear. Much of that fear is alive and well within the AoS.

Another on of those never closed storylines is that the Insight satellites appear to still be in orbit around the world. As simple matter by the governments of the world to take them down.

Otherwise the HYDRA hit list and the technology to track those on the hit list is still in play.

Absolutely not! Great suggestion.

Even though the way Luke Cage was written, conceived and executed Trumpism could very well be a reflection on current events. Donald Trump could easily be morphed into a reinvention and reimagining of a reconstituted Red Skull only that he is Orange. 😅 Somewhere there is a parody storyline there waiting to be told.

SHIELD has not acquitted itself very well post CA:TWS.

when has SHIELD ever trusted itself? or it's own agents? it's built on paranoia and the misunderstanding of how to actually keep a secret to the point where secrets are kept just for the sake of keeping them and often now shared with the very people who could have assisted SHIELD.

it also comes from the paranoia that in order to protect a thing you need to bury it and keep it from changing.. in effect SHIELD is strangling humanity in the crib. there are empires out in space and SHIELD does nothing to prepare humanity for meeting them. as it stands now? the Kree could easily conquer earth. i mean a real invasion not that silly raiding party Loki tried to pull off and even ultron's army was little more than a raiding party as well.

if the Kree came it would be in force with proper logistics backing them up all the while SHIELD seems happy to have people ignorant about what is going on in the universe and around them. pinning up inhumans who could be and should be trained since they would be far more use than the rest of the armies on earth put together.

in a way Zola was right about what would happen. Rule by fear from Hydra.. or Rule by fear from the petty governments of the world with shield as their watchdog. either way they would be useless against the Kree much less Thanos.

heck for that matter last time i checked they still called Inhumans alien when not a bit of Alien DNA is involved in their creation.

Those are fighting words but sadly those are themes, ideas and story elements that the MCU, Marvel-TV and Marvel-Netflix are actively dismissing.

I don't believe that Marvel will ever re-visit the Kree/InHuman storyline based on print canon. That was jettisoned by the TV side in turning HYDRA into a cult following of Maveth. The Kree genetic weapons (InHumans) created by Terri-genesis is a dead end along with the Royal family of Black Bolt.

Peggy Carter's SSR is being defaulted into incompetency by a story-line of technology being BAD for humans and must be locked away. Such became her reason for starting SHIELD with Howard Stark? The biggest villain and abuser of technology on the planet. Just as you said Peggy Carter's SHIELD started strangling humanity and advancement in the crib by deciding that SHIELD knew best how to handle technology and discovery. Everything was TOO dangerous in the hands and minds of people.

Fury wanted control through fear, power and secrecy. Fury is reflectively coming off as no different than HYDRA was in trying to control mankind. Probably the reason that HYDRA selected him to become Director.

The silly intercompany competition between the TV unit and the film unit has created this divergent InHuman storyline that is now way too convoluted.

The New Director not being Steve Rogers is just another machination in the ascension of Quake/Coulson but the dumbing down of what could have been an organic expansion of Marvel print canon characters and stories. JM2cents.

I do think that InHumans have alien DNA that is triggered by Terrigenesis.

If not then it is time to introduce the High Evolutionary to sort all this mess out along with the Knights of Wundagore!

it would mean altering inhumans since in the comics inhumans were humanity + eternals (who used to be humans altered by the Celestials)

i mean they have the Celestials running around and we saw one of their heads. did they really change since they really didn't seem to change terrigenisis all that much? i mean people did die but they didn't die from Terrigenisis they likely died because the metal triggered Terrigenesis which is something most people cannot survive since the power burns them out (something that happens to mutants powered by terrigenesis)

i kind of hope they don't since it puts a different spin on Thanos. you might think he's alien but he really isn't since titans are eternals who settled on the moon of titan and eternals are humans who were altered by the celestial so.. Thanos is human.. just like Warlock is also human.

i would love it if High Evolutionary was introduced and maybe if it was revealed that Stan Lee appearing in all the films was really the Uatu the Watcher using a human disguise. Although i think they should wait until after the infinity war to use the High Evolutionary.. and use that to lead up to the Kree/Skrull war (i think they have access to all the skrull except the super skrull) if not the skrull they have Xandar or they could make a Galaxy war.. Kree vs multiple planets.

anyway that would also be great if they could get the fantastic Four back so they could get Galactus back and Dr Doom back to throw into the mix. THe characters aren't doing Fox any good anyway.

That galaxy War is called Operation: Galactic Storm and should be saved until everything is in perfect place. IE homeless Skrulls at the hands of Galactus, Shïar having gathered Kree data of nega-bomb and targeting Kree, Nova Corp as the galactic policing agency most skilled at preventing genocide/disaster. A large body of Avengers, The Guardians and Star Jammers all converging to stop the mass genocide, so that separate cells can lead the individual battles across multiple planets.

not just that but also how does Earth respond to the Galaxy on the whole or do people try to hide it and suppress the information. battles on earth too? or just elsewhere. quite a few questions.

plus if they don't get back Galactus they could always use the destruction of Skrullios as a result of the infinity war.

I would hope that in the MCU it would partially take place on Earth. The first few in the books take place on the planet and on the moon. A good deal takes place in space and one large one takes place on Hala, Earth essentially acts as the midpoint and peacekeeper of the battle, having previously dealt with the individual members, and that would translate amazingly to the big screen across a 3+ hour epic. Most of the set up would have to be done across multiple films. Hopefully encompassing some major developments.

So here's what has to be set up.
The destruction of Skrullos
The abuse of Earth's star system (Midgard) as a hyperspace port.
The death of Captain Mar Vell of the Kree Empire.
The Shïar Imperial Guard arriving on Earth.
The Kree Sentry en route to Earth
The Infiltration of The Shïar by The Skrull.
In the MCU these events would surely attract the attention of The Avengers and The Guardians of The Galaxy. At which point the MCU has 30 extra years of ideas to mix in. So whatever fits would be epic.

in the comics that kind of was helped by the fact that the Kree/Skrull war had already taken place before Operation Galactic Storm.. and it really wasn't the only one either.. you had live Kree or die and Operation Galactic storm was the sequel to the Kree/Skrull war (but i'm not certain they can use the Shi'ar)... also you have Maximum security to pull from as well.

the combination of the stories would give that.

but i'd go further.. i would say.

Kree galactic war opens up with the Kree attacking and conquering Earth leading the heroes to save specific people in order to go on the counterattack when needed.

In a Nova Corps movie... Xandar is alerted but is preoccupied with their own battle and they figure out a way to give their troops a boost to fight back

Varies movies netflix series of occupied earth and choas such as Mephisto taking advantage of the invasion including finding sentry's on earth and the moon

imagine a Daredevil fighting Kree oppressors in Hell's Kitchen.. or the Defenders in New York appearing in a Spider-man movie while he tries to keep people in the city safe.

We find out the war was instigated by the Dire-Wraiths running loose from when Skrullos is destroyed. Perhaps through Dr Strange 3.. or maybe a Darkhold movie

Uatu the Watcher appears throughout the series and finally to the Avengers to point out what is going on.

Avengers: Operation Galactic Storm.. after taking back the Earth the Avengers go on the offensive to get to the Supreme inteligence and point out the real culprits of the war.. the Dire Wraiths (who really are just skrull anyway) leading to the reamaining skrull, the kree and Xandar turning on the Wraiths and the death of the Supreme Inteligence leading to Captain Mar-Vell taking over and leading the Kree to a new age.

but i would think this would work well for one Phase. probably Phase 5.

i'm not certain they can use the Shi'ar

I'm assuming that Fox owns the rights to the Shi'ar because it ties into X-men.

Rumor has it the next X-men movie is going to be based on the Dark Phoenix story line so they might be using the Shi'ar in it. Hopefully we're going to see Dark Phoenix done right after that hack Brett Ratner butchered it in The Last Stand.

The Kree-Skrull War doesn't end in our lifetime. That's the point of the Supreme Intelligence's plan. Also I'm not sure Earth being captured by the Kree works at all, because if the Kree captured Earth proves to the Supreme Intelligence that they were the perfect race and thus required no further mutation. I thought that it even goes as far as admitting the humans ability to evolve was what triggered it's actions.

If anyone should capture The Earth is the Skrulls. Secret Invasion leading to O:GS.

Have The Skrulls in position on Earth to acquire Mar Vell's equipment, and preparing the nega bomb on the moon.

I'm pretty sure the Skrulls are tied to Fox too considering they debuted in Fantastic Four. So Fox would have to be on board considering they have rights to both Skrull and Shïar.

Have Kree invade Earth and Skrull's revealing themselves by 'saving' Earth eventually tricking the whole planet to surrender to their saviors. Switch Kree for Skrull and I like where your head went. Lol.

the reason i remember form the comics was the location of Earth more than the people on Earth.. but then from Earth you got the Eternals the Deviants the Titans the Inhumans Mutants multiple heroes so it's nothing to sneaze at. it probably adapted to the celestials manipulations better than some other planets.

plus tecnically the kree did got a long ways to conqour earth unless your forgot live kree or die and Maximum security... although live Kree or die was more revenge than conquer.
