How long before we find out about a possible season 4?

Do they typically announce whether or not the series is renewed for another season? I know there was a bit of a delay between season 2 and 3, but I don't recall of them mentioning that the series was renewed after season 2 had ended.

It might take a while. Ratings were way down for S3.

Thanks for the prompt reply. That's unfortunate, although I wasn't too fond of season 3, so I guess I'm not surprised.
