The trailer before Civil War was horrifying

I cant seem to find that trailer on the internet anywhere yet. In fact, it took me a while to realize Longlegs was the movie I was looking for because all other trailers for it don't look at all like the trailer I saw. I guess that kinda has me worried. But it looks very interesting. I wish all trailers were unique instead of the same copy-and-paste formula that all trailers have.

Was it this one?

Not quite. The trailer I saw was entirely comprised of the 4:3 square shots, and had some sort of poetry that would pop up over the footage (I think excerpts from the murderer's letters). There were also maybe three times a title card would pop up and I thought that was the title of the movie, but then the trailer would keep going. This is partially why I couldn't figure out what the movie was called because I wasn't sure which card one was the actual title. I recognized Nicholas Cage's maniacal voice saying "there she is!" and that was about my only clue. It was an incredibly unique trailer and I hope it gets released here soon following the release of Civil War.

It's definitely closer to that one, but imagine if it went on for about 2 minutes and had cryptic messages that crawled over the images. The marketing for the film is very interesting.

It's very close! It's like that one but it goes on for about twice as long. I wonder if they have two or three different trailers in this style that they played back to back? That's kinda what it felt like. One of the longest trailers I've ever seen before a theatrical film.

That is probably it. They've been releasing a bunch of short like teasers for this over the last couple months. My guess is we'll see the rest of what you saw in that trailer released in the coming weeks.
