Most underrated movie ever?

Is this the most underrated movie of all time on IMDB? Meaning in terms of rating? I can't think of any other. If not Enemy, what movie is the most underrated movie on IMDB?

SAFE MEN

The Tree of Life! I consider it one of the greatest films ever made, and it's currently sitting at a 6.8 on IMDB.

Also, although I haven't seen it yet, the experimental film Under the Skin may be a candidate with a 6.3 rating.

reply

Make that a 6.7 for Tree.

reply

Totally agree, on both. You really should check out Under the Skin, it's one of the most impressive movie "experiences" I had so far, also Sexy Beast is excellent (same director). Post Tenebras lux might be worth a go as well, given you loved The Tree of Life.

Tree of Life

Golden Palm winner and Oscar Best Pic nominee with 6.7 score.

For me it's one of the best thrillers I've seen for a long time. Very rarely I have the urge to re-watch a movie as soon as the credits roll. 10/10.

I liked it. I can't think of a most underrated, but there are plenty of overrated films out there.

The International (2009)

I gave this movie a '2'. To me, it's way overrated. I've noticed that whenever a movie is just random scenes that have no meaning, people rate the movie highly. They like to try to find meaning in nothing.

There's plenty of thought put into this movie but the director won't spoonfeed you the answer. Viewers who don't think while watching will not like this.

reply

yes, one of the most. I loved this movie I gave it a 10

Unbreakable.

After my first viewing, I was kind of nonplussed about it. I had a reasonable grasp of the film's themes, I just wasn't that impressed...but I could not stop thinking about it. We're talking weeks, not days, the film kept picking away at my brain, so I watched it again. This time I loved it.

I don't know if it's the most underrated film on this site, I don't give the ratings here much credence, but I can certainly see it becoming something of a cult classic. It's certainly something I'll revisit often.
