A fair genre effort.

A decent enough premise, though nothing new, is served slightly undercooked with a dialogue sparse screenplay (note: fair chunks of it are in Italian). With the credits beginning to roll at 1hr20mins the fact that this movie is still something of a slowburn is a mark against it.

The movie slogs along focusing more on photography than character development, until the finale when the movie decides to up a few gears. The photography is admittedly quite nice and is one of the strong points of the movie.

It does a decent job of achieving a downbeat atmosphere though it never rises to the occasion, delivering little scares along the way. A few moments of decent gore are delivered and are much welcomed.

Sydney Sweeney handbra-ing in the shower and headlighting through her tunic will probably do enough to satisfy those who choose to watch this due to their attraction to her, but this is no sexualized nunsploitation flick. (Italian actress Benedetta Porcaroli joins in on the headlighting).

All in all the atmosphere, photography, gory sequences, merciful runtime and presence of Sydney Sweeney do enough to make this worthwhile for horror fans though the movie is unlikely to feature in the year ends top 5 horror movies, a placing near the bottom of the top 10 is probable.

I watched it today. This takes a little too long to get going, but it really picks up steam towards the end. Sydney Sweeney is effective here and there are some good moments in the latter half of the film. I would rank Immaculate as the 10th best film of this year so far. 7/10 would be my rating.
