The female version of Into the Wild

It's a decent film rather than a great one, but not as good as the similsr Australian film "Tracks".

That one is about a young woman who also went into the wilderness alone, but unlike "Wild" and "Into the Wild", she did it intelligently. She was going into the unforgiving Outback so she had to be smart, not California and Oregon where you might get away with being a dumbass.

The book was much better and much more expanded. If you kind of liked the film you'll probably like the book.
