Will Larry David ever stop playing Larry David?

It's getting old now. Don't market this as an original film when its just a fantasy Curb Your Enthusiasm episode

reply

I hope not.

Larry David in 'Not A Real Actor' shocker!!!

Perhaps he will heed this thread and go back to acting school to get more range.

Ricky Gervais gets the same stupid comments about his characters.

Granted this is closer to Curb Larrythan say David Brent-Andy Millman, but with no new Curb in years - That's a GOOD THING.

I don't want him to play any other kind of character. I want Curb Larry all the time.

reply

Yeah, and how come Groucho Marx never displayed much range?

Oh wait, I remember, because everyone loves him and wouldn't care if he played the same character in a loop for eternity.

That question is reserved for people like... say, his co-star Kate Hudson. You know: people who clearly want to be taken seriously as actors. But Larry has never been a real actor. And he knows it. So did Jerry Seinfeld. They've both been nominated for acting awards because They're both stand-up comedians who know how to translate it into a show. But they would never get an Oscar.

I truly hope not. (will Larry David quit playing Larry David?)
His brand of humor never gets old, to me. I find him quite Brilliant & Funny.

I don't think he can.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing as I watched it. Sometimes it works... I'm a big fan of the first couple seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm but his character is feeling more and more forced and unfunny the more over the top he goes in trying to recapture his old humor.
