I like Michael Chiklis but...

is it just me that it's weird taking him as an Italian mobster? He plays a bad guy great, but I just don't see him as an Italian...maybe it's just me?

There was an ep where Rizzoli says that Chiklis will never be a made man because of a reason I don't remember, but I vaguely think it had something to do with him not being full Italian. I vaguely think they referred to him of being of some Irish ancestry. Not sure if that addresses your post or not.

By the way, not all Italians are dark. What about people from northern Italy?

I think Chiklis is more cringeworthy in Vegas than he was in The Shield. I like both shows but Chiklis is just not convincing to me as a mafia guy. now if he was playing a soccer dad.....

He played a decent Italian mob guy in Wiseguy during the 1989-1990 season. I think his character was Carlo Spinelli.
