Should this have been a dark comedy?

Given the theme of the movie its kinda misleading that its sold as a typical girl flick. So should this have been a dark comedy? I feel that would slightly justify the plot. I don't conisder the movie offensive btw,I think its too stupid to be offensive and there are ton of reasons why this movie is a bad that doesn't involve being offensive
