I feel like there's too much action instead of survival horror. I love the game though, it just doesn't compare to the other 2. I shouldn't be shooting other people at all in a Dead Space game.

I definitely agree. It destroyed all subtlety and originality the first two games had.
shareDS3 is most definitely the worst of the trilogy. But I don't think it's "bad" in and of itself. Most of the flaws can be pretty much ignored.

As for being scary, I thought most of the parts in space was scary, but barely anything on the planet was.
However, I also only thought the first and second game was ay scary in the beginning.
I like the Dead Space series because it mixes action with horror really well.

I agree. While DS3 was the worst of the bunch, it was definitely not a bad game. I didn't really mind the human enemies that much at all, but I really hated how nearly every single room you entered on the ice planet had wave after wave after wave of enemies.. The space part of the game was well made, but being on the planet was just a damn chore although it looked pretty.

shareBy far. It has a few good moments but is pretty weak overall. They tried to inject way too much combat which the clunky controls can't really accommodate, and the atmosphere and pacing were awful compared to the other two. I did like the weapon system, and like how they handled ammo.
I would rank them like this:
Dead Space 1: 8
Dead Space 2: 9
Dead Space 3: 6.5
I prefer the "Alien" comparison.

I liked DS3 better the first play through but after my 2nd and 3rd I realized I liked it the least. Weapon crafting is nice but it seemed lazy at the end with all the backtracking and the ending was just weird. No more rappelling!
I still like part 2 the best.
The worst by far, no argument about it.
