SPOILERS ALERT - so Daniel...

... didn't even WANT to say from a distance observe or stumble upon the trapped on a landmine Chris some time later to at least SEE what happens and then, let's say spoiler alert, he DOES indeed see what Ilya was doing etc, maybe interfere or call the police on him?

Even if I get that this was his crazy way of getting over the break up with Alicia, after devising such a plan, wouldn't he be curious to witness the outcome?

And also, given all that we see...

Do you think that after this, Chris would go after Daniel as well and at least have a word with him about this with a violent confrontation? Plus...

Don't loads of people for instance believe or think that at least some landmines can be activated when someone DOES lift their feet and who knows, maybe those land mines operate in ways that are based on people who step on them panicking or lifting a foot up in confusion etc?

And even more than that... I know there wouldn't be a movie, but let's say for argument's sake Chris decides "Well, maybe I would lift the foot or duck in the ground but maybe it won't blow up at all and Daniel decided to fool me, it just seems too far fetched to be true" so even if Ilya didn't stumble onto the scene and caused chaos of his own, would Daniel eventually then decide to lift the foot and say maybe run away etc?

P.S. Even though its left open to interpretation, do you ultimately think that Daniel later somehow DID find out all that had happened, and is now prepared to suffer his whole life in shame, thanks.
