Wouldn't that kind of raise suspicion?

There's a part over the radio with Ilya's seeming friend on the other side who doesn't speak English.

Even if that is true, wouldn't have a young girl on the other side of the radio repeatedly shout for help raise suspicions and may make the friend assume that something either is not right or that Ilya himself is doing something terrible and wrong, and thus perhaps send help and catch Ilya in the act of tormenting the couple and doing other horrible deeds?
