Yet another ripoff of British TV

Saw the trailer for this and thought, hmmmm, that sounds familiar - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0497298/. They'll never be able to top James Nesbitt and his performance.

Way to go NBC.....just one more reason I don't watch you guys unless I have to.

it's only tv people

Indeed. Shame Do No Harm is mediocre though. Was expecting better considering the rich source material.

I for one enjoyed it, as I have since the British Jekyll (sadly just 6 episodes), Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1159984/), Jessica/Nikki Sanders in Heroes, Mr. Brooks (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0780571/) & other split personality TV shows/movies. It's only the PILOT so far...

reply

cancelled! no one will be watching it now.

I just found it amusing that the ripoff of Moffatt's Jekyll is up against the ripoff of Moffatt's Sherlock.

Do you realize how incredibly ignorant this sounds? Sherlock Holmes has not only been the subject of BBC's series but the very popular movies over the past couple of years. Not only that, Sherlock Holmes is a very old fictional character and there's been a pilot based in some way on Sherlock at least every other season in the U.S.

Same for Jekyll and Hyde.... I'm not even gonna elaborate.

But basically, these characters show up CONSTANTLY in film and television and for you to assume they are on the air because they were recently in popular UK TV shows... well I'm sure you're not stupid but you're obviously not thinking.

And that show, "Jekyll", only lasted six episodes. This one should not even make that many.

Geez British people are DUMB! This is Jeckyl! Huh? I watched that off of torrents back when it aired and it was a GREAT SHOW! BUT...BUT...BUT No way is it the same show? I mean they are completely different! Even if we give credit to that show in the UK which I don't know if they do, but even if... Still THIS is a GREAT SHOW in every sense. Sorry you just like you "little" British UK shows and all of ours are $HIT! I mean HOUSE for example what a horribl.... Oh wait this was a GREAT show just a *beep* British actor, LOL

(just kidding I love(d) house)....

Laters... Sorry forgot all my slanderous words for British people!

I guess I'll be watching Jekyll but I was really hooked up on this series as it had potential.

NBC you lousy scumbags.

Take Do No Harm to AMC dammit!

while the stories of Jekyll/Hyde and Sherlock are over 100 yrs old, recently broadcast versions still influence whether a new show will be created.

American producers only want to finance Guaranteed hit shows. They don't like risk. That's why they copy foreign shows so much ... they are "proven winners."

I am surprised they made Do No Harm, since the last brit incarnation (no matter how absurdly it was used) failed after only 6 episodes.

Two episodes is downright ... amazing.

What an absurd comment. The British series didn't "fail after only 6 episodes", it was a 6 episode series. That's all there were intended to be.That's all that were needed to tell the story. Many series from the UK have only 5 or 6 episodes unlike so many US shows that get drawn out unnecessarily into 22.
