Looks like it should be premiering on Lifetime

Sigh, another movie where the man is the bad guy and the woman is the victim. This should have a long life playing Lifetime and LMN.

Well that's the story Steven King wrote and it's a really great story at that so why complain.

It's based on the BTK killer, a happily married man who also happened to like to bind, torture and kill women. Sounds just like your type of guy.

Revenge is a dish that best goes stale.

When I saw the trailer, I actually thought it was going to be on Lifetime. I was surprised to learn it would debut in theaters. I'll still see it, though.

Well, Big Driver will be, so we can all rejoice.

That's what I thought when I saw it,but the film's a bit deeper and more daeker/intense than that (and creepier, too.) I actually wish it could have been shot on film to make it even more creepier. It turned out to be fairly good and suspenseful on top of that. I really didn't know too much about the film beforehand--it's only playing at only one local theater I know of, with virtually no promotion whatsoever. The least I can say about it is that it wasn't predictable and it didn't go the places I thought it would, and I couldn't have predicted the finale or the ending for that matter. I was kind of kept off balance about some things until nearly the end, and that was interesting.

And "the bad guy with women as the victim" trope has existed in print, myths, folklore, and fairy tales long before films and TV were even invented, so it's nothing new----that's what suspense, horror, and thriller movies are built on. It's always been popular and still is today---look at the recent successes of the suspense dramas NO GOOD DEED & GONE GIRL (which does something different with that whole woman-as-victim trope.)

My thoughts exactly...perfect for Lifetime.

Any movie worth being on Lifetime is a movie worth passing on. Thanks for the warning.
