Is this a SiFi movie?

This really looks like a SiFi movie... in the same realm as Megashark or Squidshark...

No It is not a Sci-fi movie, it´s a piece of *beep*

I saw a commercial for this on SyFy. It debuts May 19th at 9pm. And in the commercial Mario says something like "There's no way they are going to sink my battleship."

reply

first Syfy ripped off Battle Los Angeles and now this?!?!?!

reply

It isn't Syfy ripping anything off. Its the Asylum. They do it every year all year round with tons of different movies.

reply

He's right. Take a look at the list of releases and have a laugh.

reply

No, it's a SyFy(tm) movie with all that entails. Garbage CGI, plot holes wide enough to sail the USS Iowa through, wooden acting, no plot, no story, just a quick ripoff of 'Battleship' with the serial numbers filed off and 1/50th of the budget. And it shows. This subturkey was knocked together to sell advertising space on SyFy(tm)m and that's about what it's good for. It's so bad it won't even put you to sleep.

reply

Direct rip-off of Star Trek:TOS episode Balance of Terror. Right down to having to 'decloak to fire'

reply

Between me, thee, & the doorpost, I'm thinking Asylum spends about half of their films' budgets on cocaine and acid. It's about the only way these movies make sense.

reply

Sad part is, I enjoy most of the Asylum movies better than the real ones. The real ones 90% of the time has just as much a *beep* story as the Asylum ones do, but supplement that by lots of Micheal Bay explosions or JJ Abrams rewrites of classics.

The Asylum films aren't trying to be taken seriously. Bay/Abrams could care less about the people they make movies for, as long as we fill their wallets.

SiFU ripped off a movie that was based on a grid board game. rrrrrright

"Battleship" is losing at the Box Office. People must have just decided they want the B-version.

With movies produced by The Asylum, I usually watch them because they are much more laughable than their big production company counterparts. However, with Battleship by Universal Pictures/Bluegrass/Film 44, I laugh constantly throughout it from the first mistake that is made on Earth when someone says "We are sending the signal now". Oh, yeah and naming the recently discovered Goldilocks planet by the (quoting here) grandiose (end of quote) name of "Planet G". The ONLY better thing in Battleship in relationship to American Warship is the special effects. Let's put it this way, my husband can tell when I am watching Battleship rather than American Warships by how loud and frequent my laughing is. Battleship was definitely NOT worth going to see in the theater because everything would have been drowned out by my laughter.

jamstar....it is an ASYLUM production, with syfy channel as one of the forms of distribution (along with redbox, netflix, etc). SyFy is owned by universal. universal made BATTLESHIP. the lawsuit over this movie was settled, and universal allowed the channel THEY own (syfy) to distribute the movie, by the forced name change from BATTLESHIPS, to AMERICAN BATTLESHIP, to AMERICAN WARSHIPS. SyFy is a cable channel, not a production company, and SyFy does not own Asylum. good attempt at sounding like you have any idea what you're talking about, though.

I got really excited about the prospect of a "Squidshark" movie so I googled it only to find out there is no such thing. Thanks for getting my hopes up.
