A genius film once you realize its a satire..

I will admit I hated this movie upon my first viewing and found it to be ridiculous with no redeeming qualities, so I researched it a bit and discovered everything was intentional. This is Cronenberg's f-you letter to Hollywood, it's a satire of the industry and society's obsession with fame and celebrity.

These characters are as flawed, repugnant, and vile as possible, because those are the people dominating the industry today. If you've followed the tabloid chronicles of celebrities like Justin Bieber, Lindsay Lohan, the Kardashian's, Charlie Sheen, Paris Hilton, etc etc, you'll instantly recognize their traits within these characters.

I wish more people understood this film instead of taking it at face value. It's genius 

Haha! Yes. Some of the posts in which people take this movie serious are hilarious- like how the CGI fire was horrible etc.

The people who hate this movie are the ones who are probably caught up in the fake celebrity world and would never think that these people they look up to are as repugnant as they are.
