I wonder what American film critic James Berardinelli thought of it.

He reviewed and greatly appreciated director Thomas Vinterberg's late 90s Dogme 95 manifesto disturbing drama "Festen" (aka "The Celebration") (1998) and quite appreciated his take on the classic "Far From the Madding Crowd" and I think he reviewed and definitely has seen one or two of his other films.

But I wonder, what did he make of this one? So far, he hasn't reviewed it. And I am pretty sure he must have at least seen it given how back around 2012/2013 it was an undeniably popular movie too, controversies aside.

Also, his opinion on its quality and whatnot aside, I wonder...

What would he say, if at all, in DEFENSE of this movie that deals with a rather less than usual and even more CONTROVERSIAL aspect, it being - a man who is de-facto wrongfully accused, and is basically found guilty in a "Kangaroo"-type of court and in the eyes of witch-hunt-oriented vigilante "justice" (or rather - INJUSTICE, whatever the intentions), of child molesting and being a child molester/pervert/danger to society in that sense, as a result?

Would Mr Berardinelli state that, as controversial as that aspect of the issue is, and NOT denying the common harsh reality of the actual cases of official child as such abuse, it has a place and a right to exist in cinema or would he be somewhat perhaps against it but maybe not mind it too much and feel like this movie handled it well and sensitively, without denying or even unintentionally undermining anything, keeping in mind also for instance that its director Thomas Vinterberg's 1998 acclaimed drama "Festen" (aka "The Celebration") actually DID deal with such child abuse, and it was a popular and an acclaimed movie overall itself, among other examples here and there (let's also not forget, the fact that this movie was ALSO based on several true stories and that its director even got accustomed with police reports in Denmark that revealed actual as such cases, so he respectably touched upon, however less than expected, issue here as such and did it without any selfish or ignorant intentions).

Looking forward to one day reading his review of this movie, he sometimes reviews films even DECADES after their release.

P.S. And yes, I think I spoke WAY too much about this movie here, will give it a rest for now.
