What was the 'Dennar' scheme? Don't get it.

If I could CC this piece of sh*t movie I'd at least be able to google what they were talking about. Bradley Cooper wanted to invest in "Dennar/Denhar?" then re-sell it in the Middle East to make a fortune.

What was the substance? A drug? Some rare grain? Did anybody a) give a sh*t while watching to notice, or b) maybe know what they were talking about?

That part was kind of rushed but I thought it was explained relatively well enough. Dinar is the currency in Iraq, and in the movie there were rumors that the value of the Dinar compared to the US dollar was going to appreciate considerably (like in Kuwait after the Gulf War). So buying 3 million US dollar's worth would soon, after the re-evaluation, turn into 300 million USD, or something crazy like that.

This is an actual thing that people have been saying for years, and there are several websites and companies set up to help people buy Dinars for that eventual rise in value. However, it so far hasn't happened, and probably never will to the extent those people say.

Dax Shepard in fact knows a guy who bought into Dinar and is always talking about how it'll get him rich one day, and Dax doesn't believe it ever will.

Wow, a serious answer to an idiotic question. What's the point?

It appeared that the OP didn't understand what Dinar were. In fact, didn't realize that they were referring to a currency. The second poster explained it pretty well. should he have given some sort of flippant answer?
