Two Eps In, Good Stuff

I'm really digging this. It took me like an entire episode to realize that's John Lithgow. He's aged quite well! He was rather freaky-looking when younger, but now he has a very stately elder gentleman look to him. And it wasn't until the second episode that I recognized the evil Terminator. He looks like Raymon Walburn reincarnated, and at some point I'd convinced myself it was actually him, somehow resurrected for the role. Robert Patrick is great in that role.

The entire show is great so far, though it's extremely brutal. I guess that's HBO? The sex and violence have to be over-the-top. But man, some of those war scenes, and the baby, are really, really unsettling. The war flashbacks especially are maybe the best I've seen at conveying the senseless brutality of trench warfare, and the waste of human life that was the first world war.

I'm very curious to see how Mason and Drake's paths eventually intersect. I assume that will come soon, probably in the 3rd episode, and from there I don't know what to expect. So far, I'd give this show an A.
