I stopped watching this movie after 30min

Gosh so boring.

How to make movie worth 10 points? Put random garbage scenes in it which don't make any sense. Now all hipsters will love it because it's so artsy. I'm so happy there are people like me who rate it with 1 point which is all worth so avarage drops to 6. Exactly what this garbage deserves.

At least Lynch movies have somekind plot and storytelling even though it's messed up in someone's head and everything in movie is connected and have logic behind it.

Here it's all about randomness. Old lady begging? Some kunfgu artist with stupid lights? Then running in dreadmill? How are these scenes connected? Where is story of movie? Guy messing up with erection?? How is any of this would be releated in real life? If it was dream how those parts would be connected to his own life? It's not. It's all about putting random *beep* and call it fancy ART so hipsters can masturbate in movie while praising it.

No we don't want story.. storytelling too mainstream. Let's put guy dance with erection infront audience and make him talk random gibberish which doesn't make sense. Oh how fancy that would be. What a marvelous acting. Screw hollywood we got indie which is so different and awesome for us hipsters with nerdy glasses and annoying smug face trying be better and smarter than rest.

Uhhhhh ... You didn't understand it then is that what you were trying to say ?

Creative film make dumb man angry because brain too linear. Journeys to internet to relieve frustration. Predictably blames mythical nemesis [hipsters] for personal disability via error strewn clunky prose. Praises self for awarding disproportionately low mark in order to right world's wrongs. Returns to life with self-esteem restored. Faps.

Why don't you ENLIGHTEN us you smart hipster? You are calling other people dumb because they didn't get any meaning out of this PILE OF CRAP ? :O
I hated the movie as well...

You stopped watching after 30 minutes and still rated it a one? You just said more about yourself than you did the movie.

And he was polite. He would always say, "Thank you!" He coined the term!

So.. You hate french art movies. I get it. Why did you chose to go watch this movie then? it seems to me that you had allready made up your mind about this being a "stupid hipster movie" before you even saw the first scene. There really isnt any point in watching these kinds of movies, if you dont go in with an open mind. Had you done that, you might have discovered a very entertaining movie with lots of colorful and emotional situatons. I think you come closer to a meaning towards the end even if it isnt all clear. Id talk about the scenes, but really there is no point since you didnt bother watching them. You left after 30 minutes, said "pointles boring hipster *beep* and then you left, having experience nothing.

I thought it was great. As for the David Lynch thing, he's one of my favourite directors but if you think Inland Empire has any kind of narrative or meaning then you're sadly deluding yourself. IE was awful. I think like a lot of European cinema it has a theme rather than a concrete story! I'm neither pretentious or a hipster by the way.

If you stop watching a film a quarter of the way through, of course it will not make sense, you philistine.

I'm not so sure I'd agree and this, to me, is the problem with the film. You DO get a basic idea of what's going on after a few assignments and that's all it keeps doing. There's nothing else here. Because the entire thing is really just an idea. It goes nowhere and does nothing with it. And it's a shame because I actually kinda love the idea. But the reality is, you don't really get much more from it by making it to minute 116 than you had at minute 30. That's a problem.

I don't get people that stop watching movies before they finish. Even if I hate something, I'm not going to stop watching it. I've found myself ultimately enjoying a film that I was initially hating.

reply

Why would you keep watching a movie if you hate it? Are you some sort of masochist?

reply

I watched for 40 mins. I do generally try and watch as much as I can but I'm bored *beep*

This movie have nothing to do with hipsters, go watch a Wes Anderson movie if you want to see a hipster flick. This movie is not about understanding every bit of it, you have to let go of it. It is a weird movie, and a little pretentious as well and i liked it. It's not for everyone, this movie is in fact a repertoire movie that will eventually challenge time.

You made a reference about Lynch, clearly you never saw Rabbits ...
