Why does Elvis omit units?

I can't remember the exact phrasing, but it goes something like 'one for your monkey, two for your clothes.. four for your nose', etc.

I can't understand this.. what is he talking about? One WHAT? Dollar? Point?

Without units, numbers are meaningless. Five dollars is something. Just 'five' is nothing, it's just a number, and as such, meaningless. It has to be attached to something to have value.

Why don't these rappers or alternatively, Elvis know this? WHAT is he talking about here, pennies? Dollars? Points? Does he mean to GIVE Michael Jackson money for his nose? What is going on?
