Too brutal for kids!

Is this supposed to be a kids movie cuz it was everything but that! So many atrocities are shown, too violent for kids to handle the emotions. And I don't get what that little kid was supposed to imply? Why did he act like a wild beast? There is no back story as to why and how he ended up like that! No comic relief in the middle of the story. No moment of fun and happiness. It kept going on like a horror fest. It's not how you make a kids movie!
"WTF" was my response throughout the movie!
RIP Pixar

Stop bubble wrapping your children.

My kids are 5 and 7 and they handled it fine. I think it depends on the kid and how they handle intense situations in movies. It was a very touching movie I thought..

Okay just saying, people seem to say this about 90% of Disney and/or Pixar movies. People seem surprised when they have deep/mature themes/content yet they pretty much always do and that's a major reason why they're so good. Disney and Pixar know that a great kids movie isn't only for kids.

Kids are more resilient than you think... especially if they are allowed to be.

The way you protect your children is the reason there are so many whinners and PC people nowadays. If you think this movie is brutal, please don't let your child leave the small village of a first world country that you should live. Because, believe me the world is tough out of the limits of your nice neighborhood and this movie was not even remotely close to brutal or just how brutal real life in the rest of the world is.

I strongly disagree with you. The film was more "children movie' in my opinion than Inside Out, with more funny and exciting stuff for kids. Cute characters, a simple story that ends with a nice message for young children. Pixar just wanted to put some more "Dinosaur" stuff in it, which made it a little darker & violent. That's all!

I tend to agree. I think Disney is the first rung on the entertainment industry's ladder for desensitizing kids

It is sad really

Disney is like that uncle that has inexplicably won the family's trust but sometimes when you come back from a night out and he is babysitting, the kids have funny looks on their faces

That's true. I had a hard time empathizing. Like the scene near the end where they parted company, of course it was designed to make us shed a tear but I couldn't. It just seemed so cliche and formulaic that I had to roll my eyes. Maybe I've just seen too many of these and yet I did get emotional for inside out so I don't think that is the issue

You don't mention whether or not you had kids with you when you saw it.

Since you didn't mention it I'm assuming you didn't go with kids and are one of the morons who assume children will be upset about it.

Grow up and mind your own business about other peoples kids
