Seeds? Spoiler Warning

Through the film we see Enrique saving the seeds from the food he is eating. At the end Marc and Julia have a nice garden growing in the doctors office.

So are they living off of poppies and sesames? Also, wasn't everything Enrique eating baked? That would have killed the seeds. Did he have sense enough to save the tomato seeds from his salad the first day he was unable to leave the office?

Not a real concern for me but also, pretty much any food you buy with seeds in it, even if they weren't cooked, would most likely be from hybrid crops and wouldn't be viable at all.
