Top 3: Dogfight - Libido - Nuptials
Bottom 3: Cycle - Ingrown - Jidai-Geki
My brother was over and we decided to watch a horror movie. We have Netflix and I ended up googling "Best newer horror movies on Netflix now" or something like that. This was actually on someone's list. Are you serious? We cringed through the first 45 minutes or hour before calling it quits. No redeeming quality. I think the only shorts we thought was "ok" were the one where the guy goes through some portal and sees himself and ends up killing himself. It was very weird and might have been the only one we liked. We laughed at the cartoon one of the woman in the bathroom, but it was still pretty dumb and ridiculous. The one with the dog stripper started out strange anf finished with the corniness of a Who Framed Roger Rabbit type of movie.
The one with the martial arts masters staring each other down was dumb. The one with the farting Japanese woman was stupid. The one with the guys jerking themselves off while that woman was dancing, and then riding on some guy was dumb and.....umm...is this still a horror movie? Seems like kind of a smut film.
Anyway, as a disclaimer, we've seen a ton lf cheesey B/C movies like Redneck Zombies, Sledgehammer, etc. man, this one is so bad we just kept shaking our heads like what Director in their right mind think that their horror short is anything worth watching? So bad. Please, for the love of all that is holy, don't waste your time with this stinker.
If you end up watching it, I told you so!
Someone recommended this to me, and I finally got around to watching it. I made it thru G before thinking that I really didn't want to waste any more of my time. Up until then, 'D is for Dogfight' is the only short that seemed to have been made with any kind of professionalism or ambition.
If there are any decent shorts after G, 5 of the 6 beginning shorts ruined any desire for me to get to them. Any decent shorts in this anthology were probably better off working the circuit on their own rather than being packaged with a bunch of low ambitioned, micro-budgeted, after school throwaway projects.
