while real fantasy like wheel of time, runelords, mistborn and others gets nothing....
i guess it was all about economics... the cgi was minimal and only bascialy appeared in the final fight and afew small cheap bits like seeing miss peregrin and the hollow in the beginning for 4 seconds.......
ive watched 15 mins of max steel, one of the worst movies of the years that never should of been made, and the first 15 mins are already better than the entire miss perigrans movies............
why does jake and his grandpas power only apply to a freak science experiment that happened decades after his granpa was born>????????
and please dont say "well book 3 explains it better".. its a film... thereofre i should have to read an entire series just to understand one poorly made film....
damn Tim Burton..... how the mighty have fallen....

I agree with this so much. I've read all 3 books. This movie ruined them in so many ways, one of them being that there were so many things I knew would make no sense to me if I had not read the books.
On the other hand, there were just as many moments that made no sense BECAUSE I had read the books, and the movie broke so many of the book-established rules. A movie adaptation, in my opinion, should both complement the source material AND work as a stand-alone piece.

absolutely. that is why some of the prequel (star wars) fans bots are the. Some actually tell you to read other books or watch clone wars tv show for it to make sense..

I never even questioned that and I've read the book. Just the first one. My guess is sheet the monsters were made, the peculiar gene evolved to fight them? I know. Total stretch. Your one question kind of throws off the whole premise.
You always get one numptie on a forum don't you.. i wonder which rival studio you're working for? lol
For a start we're seeing a story, The grandfather is telling his grandson a story and we're seeing that story, what the grandson is imagining. I dunno if you ever had kids or made up a bedtime story for them.. this is one of those.
There powers were to see those creatures which hunted the children, those creatures were not created during the science experiment that was a different things altogether i think.
noo it wasnt different altogehter.... jake even talks about the "long armed slender creatures", which are the hollows... which were created in the experiment and were peculiars who engaged in the experiemnet for ever lasting life...
