Better movie about Psychos and Dognappers

I thought this 1980 movie was much better, and "7 Psychos" may even have partly ripped it off, but poorly:

Another one, but with no dognappers, was "Straight Time," with Dustin Hoffman and a very good, and young, Gary Busey (and his toddler son). Also a young Kathy Bates.

I guess they also reminded me of this movie because both of the above contain Harry Dean Stanton... and make much better use of him.

Hey... "Missouri Breaks," too, and it's a western... with Harry Dean... and horse-nappers!
