UK actor to play Mexican
This is how racist and tasteless Hollywood still is. They have chosen a Brit to play a Mexican! With all of the great young Latin talent, they go with a Brit? B.S.!

An shmuck...
And racist, too!
Strucker!
I love Ben Barnes, but think of all the wonderful Mexican actors who could play that part.
Naturally Gael Garcia tops the list.
Diego Luna.
Efren Ramirez
Yani Gellman
Diego Boneta
This is ridiculous.

PS! HE was not suppose to be Mexican. Mexicans are not South Americans. HE was suppose to Colombian. Stupid people!
Write this down. E. M. E. T. I. B. Got it? Now, reverse it. (ALIAS)
Daniela
maybe none of them would agree to be in this stupid movie...
I will hold the Christ light for you. One Bread, One Body

They love typecast the actors in one role and Ben played a Spanish origin in Prince caspian and then he´s in this cast as latin man. This sounds weird. However I believe that Ben is able to do any role, he´s so versatile.
The movie´s plot is ridiculous and I do not like the cast. I never would to see this film, but Ben Barnes is in it...
I'm latino and i don't give a sh!t. That is to say that I think it's lame but but this movie seems interesting enough for me to not really care. Ben Barnes is cool beans, just not mexican beans. LoL. Seriously though, he better improve his latin accent because i just saw Prince Caspian and it was way lame.
shareCaspian is not Latin, he's a Telmarine; a fictional race that exists in Narnia. You really can't suck at an accent that is fictional.
shareJust be glad they didn't choose a Texan to play the part.
shareLOL! The character's last name is "Griffin!" Not a very Hispanic-sounding name. Do we know for a fact the character is supposed to be Mexican? Couldn't it be the parents were vacationing in Ibiza or somewhere, conceived the kid, and then in a flight of fancy, of nostalgia or romance, gave the kid the name "Alejandro?" Or maybe the character is of mixed heritage?
shareWell, the character in fact is called "Alejandro Griffin" and he plays Robert Deriro's and Diane Keaton's Colombian adopted son, who will get married with Amanda Seyfried.
shareDid you even watch the film EmpireRec? He's adopted, the whole premise of the film is that he has to ask his divorced parents to act married in front of his biological Columbian mother.
shareDid I watch the movie? Why yes I did...
Like, a week ago.
This thread was started over a year ago. So NO ONE had seen it yet. You're a little late to the thread, dear. ;)
And you message is racist towards the Brits. So relax.
shareBen Barnes is playing a guy who was adopted from Columbia as child by an American couple. Therefore, he will be speaking with an American accent. I watched an interview with him explaining this. I can't wait to see this movie. I'm a huge Ben Barnes fan!!
