they gloss over the concepts


such as the golden ratio : instead of nice photos taken from a plane, lay out the concept in at least a bit of detail. it is almost just a pretense at explanation.

its a cool doc, but suffers from that form over substance deficiency most do.

old-school docs would lay it out for you. nothing wrong with that. that's after all, the point of this thing, not a travelogue, or pensive shots of a narrator on a boat.

on some they do a good job. but many, you really have to stop & rewind, but they just breeze on by.

watched it all now. the initial criticism is over harsh. its a great summary. would have loved to have this as a high-school or more likely, young engineering student.

highly recommended.

I would hope so. It is a history documentary not a math course. Go watch Khan Academy and edX videos for more in depth explanations.
