Just blurting out "praise jesus" and otherwise standing there like a goon giving Denzel the stink-eye.

That said, this was an magnificent film and speaking as a recovering addict/alcoholic, it really touched a nerve. It resonated with me.

Zemeckis did an excellent job. Denzel was amazing as always. The story was well written and Kelly Reilly as Nicole was outstanding. I could literally feel Whip's heartbreak when he wakes the next morning expecting to go to Jamacia with Nicole only to find a Dear John letter. Even Don Cheadle (who I cannot stand-mostly b/c of the movie "Traffic") did an admirable effort as Hugh Lang,

The moron who played Ken's wife could not ruin this incredible movie.

That line was so intense. Whip wanted Trevor's mom to leave that message incase they died. I thoughts that was very " thoughtful" of Whip

Oh that wife, that wife! To me she looked like she was in shock. Sort of like a zombie, and then all she could say was "Praise Jesus", as though she was still in church.

I am watching this great film for like the 5th time....and I have no idea why this is the only part of the movie that seems OFF. did it bother me? Well, yes in some ways because it felt 'over the top' maybe? The only thing she says is "Praise Jesus" over and over...nothing else? The hand holding prayer seemed fine for the scene, but the "Praise Jesus" just felt out of place for me. again, the film is great and I have no problem with the religious portion of movies....but this did bother me a little. I came to see if anyone else thought this too. Thank you for post.

Whip should have slapped the "Praise Jesus" wifey and then pulled out a vodka shooter and chugged it right in front of Ken.

Idk if the actress was a moron for portraying what was presented to her, she's just following orders. There are people like that and they're called Born Agains.
