The Batman v Joker

I enjoyed this film. It would make a great double bill with Joker. Both depict a rotten Gotham City.

In this film, the whole system is corrupt.Politicians, cops and the Police are all corrupted by money. How can law and order be maintained? You almost feel sympathy for the Riddler and his campaign against the rotten bunch. Almost.

In Joker, Gotham City runs down and dirty. Rats running in the street. The perfect place for an anti hero to emerge from. The film evokes that 1970s Taxi Driver image, which of course is deliberate. No accident that Robert De Niro was cast as the obnoxious talk show host.
