Don't forget the main actor in blade runner is the Atmosphere - It's a film i can listen to without watching and watch without listening - i hope they have the patience to get it right - Deckard should be motion capture.

You really should add some persuasive arguments to your choices. Other than "We get it, you like French and Spanish girls and, judging from your tagline, you have fairly cliched view of mainstream Hollywood" you offer us nothing by the way of elucidation on why you think these particular choices are somehow better than any other particular choices. Several of these don't even seem to have particularly notable acting chops, at least not in any way they've demonstrated thus far in their careers. I'm sure they're decent actors, but "decent actors" are plentiful, as are attractive men and women. Try putting more thought, or at least more attempts at giving us your thoughts, into what makes a given actor particularly suitable.

As for your trite disdain of "name" actors, you can't possibly have missed the fact that Harrison Ford was definitely a major star at the time. There's no particular reason to assume Ridley Scott wouldn't cast another one.

i guess you didn't scroll as i did say a few times why i added certain actors to the list - did you not watch the videos?

for some reason - you get to be the lucky one - i write a whole list for tho

as i never explain myself to anyone - if you get it - you get it - if you don't - you don't

i asked a similar question to someone once and he simply replied to me with "get on my level"

i am assuming you know nothing about the actors - nor the film/world/themes/tastes/styles/mood of blade runner?

so let me try

- LIAH O'PREY - Little girl - there was a rumour for a while the lead role would be a little girl - this is the latest - little girl actress i've seen in a sci-fi film that i thought was good - watch young ones

- JOSH HOLLOWAY - Detective - the only actor even remotely close i can think of with similar charm humour and disdain ford has - plus he too has done sci-fi - watch lost

- LEA SEYDOUX - Replicant - an actress at the top of her game currently - yes it's a mere coincidence/shame so many are french - watch blue is the warmest colour - we don't want blade runner 2 to just be little china again do we?

- LANGLEY KIRKWOOD - Replicant - blade runner is a film you can listen to on headphones - with great voices - listen to his voice on dredd - plus it would be nice to get a british actor in the film

- ANTJE TRAUE - Replicant - her eyes and german voice would fit well into the dark world of blade runner - watch man of steel

- MADS MIKKELSEN - Replicant - i just laughed and thought i'm not explaining this - you do the research - watch the hunt

- CLEMENCE POESY - Human - she has a soft angelic rachel quality - and even tho french well versed in non french roles

- JOAQUIN PHOENIX - Human - did you see the master? blade runner needs good acting

- EVAN RACHEL WOOD - Replicant - you made me realise i should add another american actress - watch charlie countryman

- RUDY YOUNGBLOOD - Replicant - blade runner supports different ethnic qualities - this guy deserves a 2nd film - after his apocalypto performance

- BEN FOSTER - Replicant - i feel like all my explanations are just going to be film recommendations - which should hopefully make you regret asking cos you clearly didn't know the actors - he can transform with makeup - watch 3:10 to yuma or the messenger

- BARRY PEPPER - Human cop - he has qualities to be the ultimate cop - he too can transform with makeup - watch 25th hour

- NORA ARNEZEDER - Replicant - sorry another french one - let's not pretend that rachel and pris were amazing actresses prior to blade runner - they looked hot - and let's not pretend that blade runner isn't a style as substance film

- MICHAEL DOUGLAS - Human - blade runner needs a legend - obviously a new tyrell leader - that voice - blade runner is all about aesthetics - no one can mess with the power of michael douglas

- ELIZABETH OLSEN - Replicant - martha marcy may marlene was the reason for my choice - godzilla made me question it

- WAGNER MOURA - human - he was the best thing about elysium for me - again another ethnicity to add to the palette

obviously i can only suggest what is out there - obviously there will be lots of new talent too

i'm just saying these are the kinds of things the blade runner world goes for and can utilise well - not emma watson and zac efron - there is a tone and standard to all the people i chose - i guess you don't see it

it's crazy the amount of people worrying about alien and blade runner being made similarly

of course they wont use the medical alien style like they did in prometheus

blade runner is a detective noir genre - all those aesthetics will/should remain

This post is funny because of how sexist it is.

Casting breakdown: tyrell corp, replicants, cops, and WOMEN?

You would cast a bunch of old men, but all the women are under 35 (what about Charlize Theron, Tilda Swinton, or Famke Janssen as replicants?).

And then this "She looks hot, just kill her".

i think you might be a tad unaware of the genre detective noir and of ridley scotts work

my list is the kinda thing that would happen - i can't cast old women

it's like you could also say i'm being racist for not having an oriental actress in my list

but i did look and couldn't find any i liked

i put women instead of ""basic pleasure model"" so i'm not all evil

to the soundtrack people saying burial and coheed and cambria and all other crazy stuff lol

in my list i chose com truise - cos not only does he have the synth knowledge etc

he has a strong love for the film - it would literally be a childhood dream for seth

he was born to do it - and i know he would want vangelis involved as well

would be a great duo - old and new

I like Jake Gyllenhal , I think he's good and handsome but not too handsome,

I don't like Ryan Gosling at all, too cute.

I will love to see Nicole Kidman as a replicant or Tyrell Corporation rep.
She's never been in a sci-fi movie.

For music, ohhh, as someone said before, Vangelis soundtrack to the original
is such an organic component for the film, I will miss them,
I feel it has to be a dream like electronic soundtrack,
very soothing and mysterious.

Birth Kidman, Rabbit Hole Kidman, The Others Kidman, Stoker Kidman and Eyes wide shut Kidman will work for my taste very much into Blade Runners Universe.

Can't see Gosling and Gyllenhaal both being in.

Love the idea of Mikkelsen and Seydoux as Replicants. I can also get on board with Wagner Moura in the film.

Some people I would cast.

Sigourney Weaver - head of police department

Kim Basinger - aging stripper replicant

Lee Byung Hun - as a rogue ex cop, who hunts Replicants.

Sean Harris - as a dirty, hard nosed drug abusing detective.

Shameik Moore - rookie cop, who is the partner of Ryan Gosling

Max von Sydow - head of Tyrell Corp

Alicia Vikander - works for Tyrell, is a Replicant and the main love interest for Gosling.

W. Earl Brown and Jeffrey Donovan - as two illegal arms dealers, they play brothers. Have run ins with the law, eventually help in the fight with the Replicants.

Edward James Olmos - returning as Gaff

Matthias Schoenaerts - as a Replicant

finally added rinko - i was gonna add her after pacific rim but thought it too obvious - but now time has passed and she showed me a different side in kumiko - added - as let's face it - huge chinatown vibes in blade runner

I agree. I'd love to see it, maybe Denis will try for it since he has history with him.

I also would like to see Benicio del Toro in this movie, or Oscar Isaac if they can't get Gyllenhaal.

But Seydoux and Mikkelsen are two actors I'd really love to see in this.

Not gona lie you kinda killed it with the women roles. Couldnt have done better. They cant be too famous. I almost think gosling AND gyllenhaal is too much tho. I really dont want it be over the top Hollywood- BUT- villeneuve did make it work with hugh jackman and gyllenhaal in Prisoners- so i digress. Im also down with Ben Foster and Joaquin, even though Joaquin doesnt normally do films like this- Her was in the future tho. He does good with violence too... as strange as that may sound.

At first i honestly thought of that chick from Ex Machina. The robot. hah. Yea... would be redundant but she really was a believable robot. and is smokin. I guess Blade Runner kind of aims for the opposite. the "maybe im a robot" look.
