Well for a start Michael Fassbender has been rumored to be in talks with Ridley, and he has said he would love to do it...so please let Michael be in it Ridley!

sexybram, I think is very possible that Michael Fassbender is going to be working again with Sir Ridley. Michael Fassbender is the new Russell Crowe.

About your other suggestions, the majority of them are interesting. Jude Law is a method actor and he worked with Steven Spielberg in the past so is possible Sir Ridley likes him too.

I would love if Ridley Scott casts someone really young like Emma Watson or Kristen Stewart. In the other hand, I liked older women too like Charlize Theron, Olivia Wilde, Kiera Knightley or Natalie Portman.

so i've added him to the list

not as a harrison role that would be too lame and type cast for shannon who always plays those roles

but he is a good actor who deserves a cameo role i'd say

very happy to report that jessica brown findlay is the lead in epic Ridley Scott-produced miniseries "Labyrinth, 2012"

i guess this now explains why she was at the prometheus premiere

i also just stumbled upon jane levy - apparently in a 'hot new actress to watch' list with findlay
and she has chastain qualities so put her next to chastain - as ridley has mentioned he wants a girl (not woman) lead

Interesting choices, warnerchild. BUT NONE of those young "girls"(or women) are movie stars.

SIR RIDLEY is going to cast a young female movie star for BLADE RUNNER II(3D).

I want EMMA WATSON, but SIR RIDLEY maybe wants EMMA STONE or JENNIFER LAWRENCE.

The girls id like to see in this are definitely marion cotillard and jessica chastain and i cant think of anyone else- but when it comes to casting guys, i honestly cant think of anybody cause ive got fassbender on the brain cause of his performance in Prometheus *shoulder shrug*:)

Have you read the opening scene expand by Ridley Scott. "A big guy"... I guess Bautista won't have many lines, and Villeneuve is not aiming to make him win any Oscars.

About Robin: its noticeable how the studio and producers pursued her for weeks and even rearranged the schedule to accommodate her commitments with other projects: that says a lot about how important she is for Villeneuve and she'll be probably playing the female lead Ridley Scott was talking about: he said that the sequel would have a female protagonist. She's a way better actor than both Gosling and Ford. So probably Villeneuve has visualized her in the role and wouldn't settle for another actress. That's promising.I love that the lead female is a woman over 40. They are not shaping this movie to please the masses or aiming to box office smash, but Villeneuve is going for an arthouse film on a bigger scale, IMO.

Is it obvious to me that both Armas and Sylvia's roles have to be non speaking roles or at least roles where , uhm, not much acting ability is required. Much like Daryl hanna's role in the original, and we know Daryl is not top notch talent, as much as I hate generalize and shade over people's talent or lack of it, the body of work and experience of the latest additions to the cast, including Batista's, scream to me "replicants with non speaking roles". At this point all the weight of the movie, gravitas and acting ability wise is on Wright's and Gosling's shoulders, bc Ford, no matter how many iconic roles he has played and the respect he gets in the industry, is not, never been and never will be, a talented thespian. His screen presence is undoubtedly an asset, but he ain't no Daniel Day Lewis, to say.

i agree on some level's - but there have been MANY cases - where new actors or actresses can surprise

Especially in the hands of a very good director - which denis is

not only that - he has stated his level of fandom in many interviews - he wont F this up

and the unknowns will want to step up to the plate sharing the stage with the likes of gosling and wright

and they too will help

so all in all - no i don't agree haha

Why does every BIG NAME movie need a BIG NAME cast today??.. i would love to see a somewhat no-name cast.. making it opposite to the original ... which had ONE big name (Harrison Ford) .. but the movie was anything but a big name and turned out to be a cult hit.
