Why did the police and Chris think that Luke was in love with Vincent? It was implied twice. But it was never fully explain. Luke didn't do anything that inducated that he was into Vincent. So was he in love with Vincent, and where did the cops get that idea?

Most of what the cops based their interrogations on came from what Vincent told them. Since Luke had been living in Vincent's shadow, it's likely he thought that he endured it out of his feelings for him and that was his statement. In my opinion, Luke being in love with Vincent would have made a more interesting story. But whatevs.

shareI think Luke being in love with Vincent would have made a more interesting story too. It also would have made a better motive as for why he killed Sarah . Killing Sarah because she stood in the way between him and Vincent, makes more sense then killing her because he loved her.

Yes, they should have kept Luke as gay and hot for Vincent (as when eyeing him in the pool scene). That would have been a better twist and more believable too. Wentworth Miller, the actor portraying Luke, is gay in real life.
