The second half showing the growth in popularity of Palin is an eerie foreshadowing of Trump's campaign. The red ball caps, the chanting, the appeal to homespun values. McCain's comment about the darker side of American populism was very prophetic. This was made five years ago!

I was just watching this thinking the exact same thibg. Say what you will about McCain but at least he conducted his campaign with some class.
shareTrump was worse than Palin. Palin at least technically had prior experience on a city council and was governor. Trump did not care re how government worked. Wanted to just take over.
