A Great Film. This movie delivers on every level with true charisma.

All too infrequently, a much hyped blockbuster hits the mark right on the spot. Captain America The Winter Soldier is such a movie.

It’s the best big budget movie that I’ve seen since Avengers. It hits a high standard of excellence by combining an intriguing plot with breathtaking action sequences.

This movie will surprise a lot of people with its heart while sacrificing none of the thrills. The inner turmoil worked well, the beautiful thing is that we can relate to each character, especially that of Steve Rogers. His never say die attitude and heart of a champion makes this hero more interesting then most. He remains the “good man” his creator instructed him to be in the first film even through the most trying of times.

It’s a movie that lives up to all the hype it has generated.

Undoubtedly, this movie is as great as most are saying. What struck me is how unique, deep yet fun the entire experience turned out. While waiting to see the film, I was seated behind two younger kids. Both started to sing the theme song to the recent Avengers cartoon. The line that hit me was “United we are strong.” To me, that line describes family. Then I realized that is exactly what the Avengers are and why they have broad appeal. The film explores the foundations of this and promotes it quite well. Sure, there’s uneasy tension and trust issues (especially with Loki working behind the scenes) but even that adds depth. Thor is dealing with actual family and the end result is true growth for all major characters depicted. The bonds these kindred spirits forge is truly special and watching it in its inception is a true treat. I’m just glad Marvel placed these characters together and invited me to join the family. I’m an Avenger fan for life now!

Avenger fans are always Avenger fans for life.

I'm glad to see this film is still getting "boosting" threads. It deserves them.

This is what pleases me most.

Captain America is a great character that will continue to succeed till someone with the authority to do it insists that he has to be rewritten as a "grittier, darker, more grounded and modern" character - and cuts out Steve Rogers' heart.

So far, there's zero indication anyone at Marvel would be willing to allow that. Even though nothing could be more cliched than for them to go that route.

I feel like every Captain America movie is both "Steve as expected" and a happy surprise.

If they stay true to that in Civil War, what does that make Stark? It'll be interesting to see where they go with Tony's persona.

Finally got around to watching this flick, and it definitely stepped up the stakes in the overall arc. Damn good movie, will watch it again. Now Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D makes a lot more sense! :)

The beauty of it is that the TV show has kept the ball rolling. Season one ended superbly after this movie but season two is all around better.

It's just damn brilliant big screen or small.

Civil War will change the way you experience blockbuster movies from here on out.

It was definitely in the Russo's wheel house.

Yes, Sharon with Peggy Carter would make a great prequel.

I honestly enjoyed this film as much as any movie I've ever seen.

Tonally, The Winter Soldier is the darkest story we've come to encounter, raising many deep-seated questions about government and soldiers of war while also taking Rogers on an emotional journey. It also has the best action choreography among all of the MCU movies thus far. Whedon's NYC battle in The Avengers is beautifully shot and written, but cannot compare to the hard-hitting set pieces found in The Winter Soldier, each building up to the bigger whole. The Russo brothers come from a background of directing television comedies such as Arrested Development and Community, and it's extraordinary how well they handle a big budget action blockbuster from cinematography to pacing. They do infuse their own style of comedy with fun references and a cameo other than Stan Lee, functioning properly within the confines of the tone and story. Henry Jackman (Captain Phillips; Wreck-It Ralph; X-Men: First Class) also composes an adrenaline pumping score that sets the right mood every time.
That's proof right there. Love that critic quote.

Semper Fudge!

Critics really liked Winter Soldier but they all LOVE Civil War. I guess one led to the other to be fair.

As far as most film fans are concerned, Captain America is the title holder of BEST TRILOGY of all-time.
