Janet's kid and her cellphone

So in the last episode, Janet poses as her kid to try and get more photos from the teenager that led to the kid's arrest. Wouldn't that be worse for Janet because she is posing as a teenager to get more explicit photos of another teenager? Wouldn't she be arrested as soon as tells the police about it?

I really hate how off-hand they resolve this plot line. We don't even know if her kid gets out of being convicted.
