Eureka! I Just Realized Where Rumple Got The Inspiration For His Wonderful Laugh!

It comes from Cyril Richard’s amazing laugh as Captain Hook in the original Broadway production of Peter Pan, starring Mary Martin! I had the show’s libretto on an LP when I was a little boy, and must have driven my parents insane by how many times I played it. Richard was a legend of Broadway. He played both Mr. Darling and Captain Hook. Carlyle is a wonderful actor. He was inspired by the best. Just as Heath Ledger channeled one of the finest comic actors ever, Jack Lemmon, for his Joker, Robert Carlyle channeled Cyril Richard for his Rumplestiltskin. Bravo!
