Subtitles

I am sorry if it has been brought up on this board before.

During the movie when in other countries where the people were speaking a different language, why were there no subtitles to let the audience know what was being said? Is this something wrong with the version I saw or did the filmmakers just really not see the need to include those bits of dialogue?

Thank you and again, sorry if this is redundant or my viewing error!

There were subtitles when two kenian guys were assassinated in the car and when Alexander Siddig's character was fleeing to Egypt with his family.

There were subtitles throughout the film on my DVD.

There were subtitles on the DVD I watched last night. True it was difficult to find how to get the subtitles.
