Empire or Stormcloaks?

Just curious, what others picked.

I went in for for the Stormcloaks. Too many Thalmor Justiciars tried to kill me with no provocation... right after being horribly rude. Not to mention, that whole thing about outlawing Talos worship. I don't have an opinion on whether Talos is a god; but I just can't be down with stripping away that fundamental freedom of religion.

Besides, that officer armor is cool-- those gauntlets go well with ANY light armor, and who doesn't want to wear a bear-hat?

Sometimes fires don't go out when you're done playin' with them.

i am usually a thief/assassin/rogue sort with a preference for the stormcloaks.

the imperials are modelled abit on the romans

the stormcloaks are modelled abit on the germanic tribes

at least on the civil war conflict perspective of things

and the thalmor are abunch of high faluting *beep* i have a k.o.s. policy on them. i am always tempted to kill the trio in markarth.

I based my choice on my sense of loyalty and Skyrim is part of the empire so I chose the empire. Skyrim is based on Scandinavia(Denmark Sweden and Norway) and the nords on the Vikings. Since I'm Danish it felt a bit like I fought some imaginary ancestors who're extreme nationalists:D

When Skyrim first came out and I started playing, I was thinking I was going to side with the Empire just because I felt loyal to them, especially after playing Oblivion and seeing the Imperial City in all it's grandeur.

Then, after hearing how they basically surrendered to the Thalmor and agreed to the White Gold Concordat, I decided to go with the Stormcloaks.

On my second play through, I decided to go Imperial. Honestly, neither one has any major pros or cons. Other than I think Solitude is the most beautiful city in the game and I didn't want to invade it (again.)
