It's about......

(my guess)

Purgatory

"When two bus crash survivors awake to discover that they are the only people left in their small town, they must form an unlikely alliance in a race to unravel the truth behind their isolation. As strange events begin to unfold, they start to question whether the town they know so well is really what it seems"

Seems likely with the movie title ("After") that it's about the afterlife, the bus survivors are really dead and likely to be in the state b4 hell or heaven, aka Purgatory. Perhaps there actions here will result in one going to heaven and the other going to hell.

Uh...Thank you for that .....I think...If I understood...OK, that's great. No, I mean that.

I tried to contain myself but I escaped.

If you're really expecting a truly original plot every time you go to the movies, read a book or a comic, you will be sorely disappointed. Every tale is the same, just told in different ways, some good and some not so good. This one told the redemption journey story quite well and it was beautifully and scored and filmed.

Every plot is the same. How many movies have you seen with the hero's journey, where he gets the girl at the end and live happily ever after? I would say at least 90 percent of all the movies ever made tell that story, just with small changes here and there but we still love those stories, even if they've been told to us a thousand times.

Also you comment is a big spoiler so you should really put the spoiler tag on it.

EXACTLY! I wish more people understood this about movies. There would be a lot less whining. Movies are a form of art. How many knowledgeable art historians whine about the Mona Lisa not being original because madonnas are such a common subject of paintings. Oh no, not another depiction of a biblical scene, or field, or seashore...

Art has always been about taking the same old subject and seeing it in a different way. So what's wrong with another version of such-and-such story or character? They are another artist's expression of that story.

People with unrealistic expectations that they expect the movie industry to live up to, should really get over themselves.

So I ruined the movie by jumping to the end,...
Oh dear. What a shame! Perfectly good movie. You might have really enjoyed it.

"The dwarf lives until we can find a cock merchant."

reply

No. Not at all. There was a 0% chance they would've enjoyed a movie this bad and predictable.

Purgatory?

No. It's more science-fictional than that. But no spoilers from me.
