Question about the raid of the Compoud

Why were the Seals saying the terrorists names when they were in the compound? For example when they were heading up the stairs toward Bin Laden's room one said "Osama" Did they think that would cause them to come out of hiding or were they trying to sound like other people that might be living in the house?

reply

They were searching for the occupants, and wanted to sound like them to get them to expose themselves. Surprisingly, it worked pretty well. At one point a Seal says "Khalid?" and, in response, Khalid peers around the wall exposing himself briefly enough to be shot.

Read Mark Owen's (Matt Bissonnette) book, No Easy Day. The SEALS were well briefed on who might be in the house. Khalid was in fact lured around a corner of the staircase when they said his name.

Owen also went on to say that Osama bin Laden was a pussy who did not even lift a finger to defend himself while his courier shot at the SEAL's and his son might have with the loaded rifle in his hands.
