What do you think 'one big scare' was?

Back when all the reviews were coming out, several mention one scare that was the biggest the series has ever had, but obviously they didn't specify so as not to spoil it.

So what do you think it was?

Personally, I'm not sure. The scariest part for me was the hair pull. But largest in scale was probably the kitchen furniture drop. I thought it would something from the last act, as several reviews also mentioned the last 15 minutes being absolutely terrifying, but there wasn't really a big scare in that section.

Well I have a few from PA3 ...

1: Katie being dragged into to small closet thing in the corner (gave me chills)...

2: The old ladies in the end (WAUW I really didn't see that coming right there and I jumped)...

3: The Bloody Mary scene when things start to go wrong outside the door (this just was kinda creepy).

From PA2:

1: The kitchen doors explode open.. WHAT A *beep* JUMPSCARE THAT WAS!!!!

2: When Kristi is being dragged down the stairs and runs back upstairs to be pulled really hard back... that made me feel really creeped out..

From PA1:

1: The sheet part (creepy)

2: Footprints on the floor (creepy)

3: The big "scream/noise" when in bed.. (*beep*!)

4: Katie "eatin" the camera (pretty hollywood but the movie made me go for it).

5: Footstep sounds... (I still get creeped my this!)

For me, in PA3, the biggest "scares" were the sheet ghost... It really just made me feel like I was being watched, and the Bloody Mary scene. The Bloody Mary scene creeped me out pretty effectively, especially since it was happening to someone who didn't live in the house and it showed that Toby was seriously PISSED OFF.

^ Couldn't agree more LoL. Especially when "Toby" or his "entity" is briefly seen moving outside of the bathroom door. Poor dude in the bathroom....I doubt I could keep holding onto that giant camera lol.

He looks really really fierce though, like a proper don't give a frakk elf

A couple more scares in the three movies....

In PA1, the ouija board catching fire was just downright FREAKY!!!!!!!!!!!!! That showed you that for sure, a frickin demon was at work there. No doubt about it!

In PA2, when you saw Hunter being dragged out of his crib. Woo!! Sent chills down my spine!

In PA3, when they were playing bloody mary in the bathroom and all hell then broke loose. OMG!! That was downright WRONG!!! It was just HORRIBLY DREADFUL!!!! Very disturbing!!

That camera panning from the kitchen to the living room was the scariest part of the movie. The anxiety of waiting to see what it would show creeped me out.

When I realized that the babysitter is Melody Bostic. I was like, "DON'T YOU F'ING KILL MELODY BOSTIC! SHE HAS MORE PARTIES TO THROW!"

reply

I don't know if it was a big scare, but a big creep fest when at the grandmothers and Julie left Dennis alone in the room and while waiting for her the he blocks the camera and there is a woman in the doorway then a minute later he crosses the camera again and she is gone. It kinda looks like grandma...but younger.

He needs you, and that's very me.

Alot of people are saying the sheet scene is the most effective, but it lost all tension for me when it was revealed to be "Toby" because to have been under that sheet, it would make Toby about 4 foot tall! lost all tension when i thought of it like that, the scene in the mirror where the guy gets scratched is quite intense though.
I've no need for a sig

Have you considered that Toby is a shape shifter?
He could have just shifted his mass that way
His description varies too much between all movies that quite frankly it runs down to be the only solution

reply

Then why did he shift to be the size of a little girl? it was behind the baby sitters back so it wasn't to scare her, if one coud shape shift way not shift to an 8 foot monster

I've no need for a sig

reply

Obviously the filmmakers wanted the audience to think that it was a little girl under the sheet, especially since the baby sitter played that "game" with her. We were all supposed to think "Aww, how precious that she wants to play with the baby sitter again" :)))))) and then boom GONE :(((((( that was a very chilling scene.

However, in my personal opinion, the biggest scare for me was when the mom jumped out of the closet with the mask on, it literally made my feet go numb. I was not expecting it. A close second is any scene in the kitchen/living room, that dang camera that panned slowly back and forth was freaking nerve-wracking for me.

Damn there were several for me:

The ghost sheet

The bloody Mary game

The Kitchen scene

The "hair pull" scene and Katie getting attacked.

Damn!

I know I was born gay because my first sentence was, 'Get those boobs outta my face!'

reply

My fave scary bit was when Dennis is looking into Toby's closet thing in the girls bedroom and Katie sneaks up on him. I was impressed that a little kid managed to scare me by simply standing there.

The ghost sheet part scared me the most I think cause I read about the movie before and I spoiled it a little for myself (I know stupid) so I knew about some of the major jump scenes. But to whoever thought of the camera on the fan and having it pan across the house is an evil genius!
