Annoying things.

The most annoying thing about this show is that 90% of the homeowners always decide to "love it". Which is ridiculous, because all Hillary does is rearrange the living area in a house that they have outgrown, while David provides them with a perfect, spacious new house that they can afford. Hillary tries to make a silk purse out of a sows ear while David provides them with a real silk purse! And it's boring watching a show where a majority of the people are going to decide to stay in their remodeled house. I'd like to hear some comments from people who have said that they were sorry that they stayed in their house instead of moving. I'll bet there their are a lot of them who regret staying.
The second most annoying thing is the little act that Hillary and David put on: Hillary the "bitch" and David the "bastard". Please. That is so phony. They can't be that bad in real life.

(Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.)

I think the upgrades are really paid for by the show.It might be alot of people coming on the show that love their house and never wanna move but they can get some cash towards upgrading it if not totally free.

It's pretty simple really, people get attaced to their homes, neighborhood, neighbors and school district. Second thing is that moving is EXPENSIVE. Think about it, you pay realtor fees, closing costs, inspection fees and moving expenses. My buddy has a huge house on 3 acres snd he would like to downsize. The cost and hassle of moving, plus the added stress of possibly uprooting his kids from their school and friends has him staying put.

By the time taping is done, the outcome has already been determined. It's all fake drama/comedy, with David being the comic-relief whipped "husband" to Hillary's dominating "wife".
